“Life’s Adventure Adorned With Elegance”

This commissioned pottery is for a loving and adventurous couple: Ansley and Taylor Hancey, who are about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.  I am always intrigued by the perspective of a parent regarding their child.  While meeting with Ansley’s mother to discuss the details of this commissioned gift I learned that she sees her daughter Ansley like a blossom.  Ansley’s youth had its uncertainty, yet her mom still saw her beauty and potential…She was like a blossom in the wind, elegantly blowing through the various directions life was bringing her.  When Ansley met Taylor, this stunning blossom no longer was subject to the directionless wind; she finally found her place.  According to her mother, “Taylor gives Ansley serenity and grounds her with his love”.  Ansley is now more like a blossom budding on a tree while Taylor is her branch rooting her to a happy and secure life.  These two individuals are quite different and yet they complement each other well.  Taylor is a rugged hunter while Ansley is a girly girl loving all things pink and fancy. Though girly, Ansley embraces the active, athletic, and nature-connected ways too.  A good representation of this couple is the glittered deer antlers that Ansley decorated for their wedding.  She may be girly, but she is always ready for an adventure, bringing her sense of style along with her.  May their love be eternal like the sun and their adventures together be endless.
